He  was 14 years old when he entered at the Royal School of Cadets in Laeken, which has closed his doors for  years now He stayed there 3 years for his secondary school scholarship in a very high level boarding school.

This very strict education grouped students who passed the entrance examination which concerned several subjects.

A rigorous military education instilling order, method and discipline.
